Dear my brothers and sisters of Blessed Andrew Phu Yen Parish,
As you may remember, I am Nguyen Dinh, a seminarian from St. John’s Seminary, Brighton, who is being assigned to this parish for one more year. It is with great joy and pleasure that I am sent here to be with you all this summer. This is my second full-time summer in our parish, which means you will see me more often in daily Masses and beyond. During the academic year, you might not see me since I came only on Sunday’s afternoons to help with the Faith Program and the Mass for children afterward. I wish I could come more often to see you all but there were responsibilities in my seminary to be fulfilled. Next year I will have more time to be with you when I get to Fourth Theology, the year which is specifically designed for more parish activities.
This summer I will be visiting the elderly, the sick, the homebound on behalf of Fr. Phong. I also come with the Blessed Sacrament for those who cannot attend Mass due to physical challenges. I believe that I am called to see in each and every one of you the face of Christ, the image of God, and the dearly child whom God is so pleased with. Please feel free to give me a call (857 919 5996) whenever you need the Eucharist or simply a listener. The Church is on the way to become a more “synodal” Church, the Church in which everyone is going together on the same road under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. That is the Church of listening, of companion, and of mission. Thus, on behalf of Fr. phong, I am willing to come to you all, to accompany you, and together we may experience God’s compassion and love.
May God bless you all!
Nguyen Dinh, Thầy Xứ - Seminarian Intern
